"Never Give Up"
Tuesday December 17th: Seen below is Texas R&B Singer Usher!! R&B professional singer Usher Raymond IV was born on October 14, 1978 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was raised there alongside his younger brother James by his single parent mother named Jonnetta Patton, who previously worked as a full-timer in an office. Usher began his singing career at his six-year age by joining the local church choir. Next at his twelfth year age, the guy followed his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he began participating in various local talent shows. Later on in 1992, he met Bryant Reid, brother of the famed R&B producer and co-president of LaFace Records Antonio Reid, in an audition in his school. Got impressed by Usher's singing talent, Bryant attempted his audition for Reid, who at the end offered him a recording contract. After that began working on his debut album, Usher's hard work came to fruition with the release of his eponymous LP "Usher" on August 30, 1994 under LaFace's wings which sad to say peaked at number 167 on the Billboard 200, making it his lowest-selling album to date selling a little over 50,000 units. In 1996, the will-becoming notable rapper had also made recording jingles for Coca-Cola and that year Summer Olympics ...
in Atlanta. Soon afterwards, together with some other vocalists, Usher formed a vocal group dubbed Black Men United and recorded a song called "U Will Know," featured as the 1994 romantic drama film "Jason's Lyric" soundtrack, which became his most successful to date, reached number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 late that year and number 5 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Charts. Graduated from North Springs High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Usher entered the studio to record his sophomore album "My Way" with 6 out of its 9 tracks were co-written by Usher himself. Released in October 1997, the LP went success as it reached number 4 on the Billboard 200, number 1 on the R&B album charts, number 13 on the Canadian charts and that its two hit singles; "You Make Me Wanna" (1997) and "My Way" (1998) had eventually led the album to be certified multi-platinum.
Singing aside, Usher also spent time acting, made his acting debut in the UPN TV series "Moesha" (1996) which led to his first leading film role in the 1998 "The Faculty," also starred pop songstress Brandy. The following year saw him cast in the daytime drama "The Bold and the by AceShowbiz.com
Beautiful" and in the family series "Promised Land" before completed two more films, "She's All That" and "Light It Up", both hit the theaters in 1999. Later that year he released a live album, titled "Live", featured Lil' Kim, Jagged Edge, Trey Lorenz, Shanice, Twista, and Manuel Seal, Jr., which sadly failed to repeat the success of "My Way," peaked only at number 73 on the Billboard 200 and number 30 on the R&B/Hip Hop Charts.
In the wake of the failed effort, Usher got back in the recording studio, worked on his third album "8701", meant as a referring to its release date of August 7, 2001. Proved to be another success, the set peaked at number one in the UK and Canada, number four on the Billboard 200 and number three on the R&B charts, thus started to build a market for Usher outside his traditional markets in Canada and the US. Greater than all, the album's hit singles "U Don't Have To Call" and "U Remind Me" won the star two Grammys for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance in 2002 and 2003 respectively, made him the only artist besides Luther Vandross and Stevie Wonder to win that ...
award in consecutive years. Then again added more film projects into his resume, he made an appearance in "Geppetto" in 2000 and "Texas Rangers" in 2001. Stepped back to where he from, Usher worked on his next music effort, "Confessions", dropped on March 23, 2004, sold 1.1 million records in its first week of release, the most copies ever sold in one week by an R&B artist. Following this, the album became one of the most successful records of the year, topped the world charts for several weeks and eventually sold over 9 million copies in the US alone, made it Usher's most successful album to date, as not only the set spawned several chart-topper hits, like "Yeah", "Burn", and "My Boo," which is a duet with singer Alicia Keys, but also it certified 9x platinum in the US while won him the 2005 Grammys Best Contemporary R&B Album, Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for "My Boo", and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Yeah" among others. Then again in November 2005, Usher back to act, starred in Lions Gate's drama musical comedy "In the Mix," portrayed New York's hottest nightclub deejay named Darrell. The following year, he invaded Broadway, gave hand to play the role of Billy Flynn in the long-running musical "Chicago."
Usher, definitely a reason to Never Give Up Beaumont!

Tuesday November 26th: Featured below is Dallas Mavericks Center Brandan Wright!! Wright was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.[2] In high school, Wright became a two-time Parade All-American selection at Brentwood Academy.[2] As a senior, Wright averaged 22.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 5.1 blocks per contest, and also recorded four triple-doubles (points, rebounds, blocks).[1] Wright earned Tennessee's Division II Mr. Basketball title in 2004, 2005, and 2006, becoming the first player ever to win the award three times at any level of Tennessee high school basketball.[2] Wright led his Brentwood Academy team to four consecutive Tennessee state championships and was a four-time MVP of the Tennessee Division II private school state championship tournament.[1][2] Wright led Brentwood Academy to four consecutive state titles, a first in Tennessee high school basketball history. Wright appeared in thirty-seven games in his lone season at the University of North Carolina, starting all and averaging 14.7 points on 64.6% field goal shooting, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.76 blocks per game.[1] His .646 field goal percentage led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and was the best ever by an ACC freshman.[1] Wright led the North Carolina team in blocks (sixty-five, sixth in the ACC), and finished second on the team in scoring (14.7 ppg, thirteenth in the ACC) and rebounding (6.2 rpg, fourteenth in the ACC).[1] He was also able to score 20-or-more points on eight different occasions.[1] Wright was able to score in double digits in his first eighteen games as a Tar Heel, making Rashad McCants and himself the only freshman Tar Heels to accomplish the feat in the last twenty years.[3] Wright was named to the NCAA All-East Regional Team after averaging 12.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in four Tournament contests.[1] Eventually, Wright was named MVP of the ACC Tournament, becoming just the fifth freshman in conference history to win the award.[1] Wright was also named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year (the third straight Tar Heel to earn the honor) and earned All-ACC Second Team honors. Wright became an early candidate for the 2007 NBA Draft after his freshman year at the University of North Carolina.[1] In the draft, Wright was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats with the eighth overall pick.[1] Wright was then acquired by the Golden State Warriors in a draft-night trade in exchange for shooting guard Jason Richardson and the draft rights to Jermareo Davidson, whom Golden State chose with the 36th overall pick.[1] Due to an injured hip flexor, Wright was unable to participate in summer league play during his rookie season.[5] Of the thirty-eight games Wright played during his rookie season, he started in six.[1] Wright entered the 2008–09 season with career averages of 4.0 points and 2.6 rebounds in 9.9 minutes over thirty-eight games in his rookie season.[1] In January 2009, Wright partially dislocated his left shoulder late in the first half of a game against the Los Angeles Lakers.[6]
On October 14, 2009 the Warriors extended Wright's contract until the end of the 2010–11 NBA season.[7] Wright damaged his left shoulder capsule during practice on October 2, 2009.[8] He underwent shoulder surgery and missed the 2009–10 season.
On February 23, 2011, Wright was traded to the New Jersey Nets along with Dan Gadzuric in exchange for Troy Murphy and a second round pick.[9]
On December 9, 2011 he signed a deal with the Dallas Mavericks.[10] Wright recorded a career-high seven blocked shots in a win at Houston on March 24, 2012. He became the eighth player in Mavericks history to record seven blocks in a game and the first since Erick Dampier in 2008. Wright matched the block total posted by the entire Rockets’ team.[11] Wright averaged 6.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 16.1 minutes per game in the 2011–12 NBA season. Wright scored in double figures 13 times and shot a team-high 61.8 percent from the field. Wright made his NBA Playoff debut in Game 1 at Oklahoma City on April 28. Wright scored his 1st career playoff point on a free throw attempt in Game 2 against the Thunder.Wright himself has said that growing up, his favorite player was Kevin Garnett and that he is also a fan of Chris Bosh's game and models some of his playing style from the two.[2] He is considered to be a superior finisher from within twelve feet and especially at the rim.[13] Wright's biggest weakness seems to be his strength at this point in his career, as well as his sporadic defensive efforts.[13]
On July 25, 2013, Wright re-signed with the Dallas Mavericks.
Brandan Wright,a superb example of why you should Never Give Up Beaumont!!

"Never Give Up"
Monday November 25th: Today's Featured Artist is Chalie Boy!! Texas may be known as the Lone Star State, but the southern hotbed has been responsible for birthing dozens of rap stars. While Houston, and even Dallas, has gotten a majority of the national spotlight over the years, newcomer Chalie Boy is set to change all of that. Representing Hearne and Calvert, Texas—two of the state’s smaller and overlooked cities—the rapper/singer possesses a unique style that offers up a refreshingly different sound than the chopped & screwed and candy coated content fans have come to expect from the region.
“I was heavily influenced by artists that fused hip-hop and R&B, like Nate Dogg and Screwed Up Click legend, Big Moe,” says Chalie, who also sites UGK, Scarface, Luther Vandross and Gerald Levert as musical influences. “I started singing in church when I was a kid and with my love for both R&B and hip-hop, I saw that there was an avenue for my particular style—it’s a hybrid of the two genres.”
Listening to various types of music coming up, Chalie, who got his start in the church choir, focused on singing in high school. While other kids were spittin’ verses at the lunchroom table, he was belting out harmonious melodies. It wasn’t until 2000 that Chalie decided to add rhyming to his musical repertoire. That year, he made his rap debut on local hip-hop group The Freestyle Kingz’ mixtape with Dirty 3rd Records’ DJ Bull. “I actually fused my singing with rapping,” recalls Chalie. “People really responded to it, so I felt like I had a lane to move in.” Chalie did more than move in, he took over. Eventually signing with Dirty 3rd Records, the Texas titan went on to build up his buzz, performing alongside DJ Bull and The Freestyle Kingz on stage and on several hot mixtapes. It wasn’t long before Chalie and Freestyle Kingz member Tite formed a self-titled duo that released four successful tapes. By 2004 Chalie was ready to break out on his own and dropped his first solo mixtape, Makin’ My Way, which sold a respectable 20,000 units. A year later, a collection of original tracks and mixtape records were released as Chalie Boy’s Greatest Hits. The series was so successful that it spawned three more volumes that were equally popular. Chalie’s coming out party, however, would be via his 2006 mixtape, Versatyle Child, which included his first regional hit, “Bumpa Grill.” Return of The Versatyle Child would follow a year later, but 2009 would be when Chalie broke into the mainstream with his smash summer anthem, “I Look Good.” The feel-good record, and its remix featuring Slim Thug, Juvenile and Bun B, was such a huge success—cracking the top 50 on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B chart—that the rap rookie and Dirty 3rd Records were able to sign with Battery/Jive Records in September 2009. “Signing a major deal with a label like Jive/Battery Records is one of the highlights of my career,” says Chalie. “’I Look Good’ being a nationwide hit and the video being on MTV and BET’s 106 & Park countdown for several weeks are as well. Since 2000, I have constantly been doing shows and I have a very solid fan base. It’s really just been consistency, a lot of hard work and determination on the part of me, my label and my team.”
Over the course of the past few years, Chalie has opened for such high profile artists as Young Jeezy, T.I., Slim Thug, Gorilla Zoe, and The-Dream, among others. In addition, he’s been featured on over 200 mixtapes, including 12 solo and 10 group tapes. Constantly growing as an artist, the multi-faceted artist continues to perfect his craft and earn the respect of his peers. In 2009, he collaborated with Grammy Award-winning rapper Chamillionaire on “Call Me,” off Chalie’s I’m Here mixtape. Through his artistry and constant hustle, Chalie has proven that Texas is more than a lone star state. Now the determined to introduce his brand of hip-hop to mainstream audiences with his still-untitled major label debut. “I want to let the world know that there is more to my artistry than just the hit single, ‘I Look Good,’” says Chalie. “I want to let the world know that I’m here. I’ve had tons of fans in my region that have supported me for several years, but now it’s time for me to show the world what I have to offer.” The success of this Texas Hip Hop Artist is a great reason to Never Give Up Beaumont!!

"Never Give Up"
Friday November 22nd: Today's Featured Celebrity is Hip Hop Artist Chamillionaire! "There are a lot of people who are just followers and do things because everyone else is doing it. I'm trying to lead by example," says Grammy Award winning rapper Chamillionaire. "I won't do anything just for a dollar. Money will make people do crazy things and I’m not one of those people."
The Houston-based entrepreneur strives to constantly elevate, adapt and grow through his music, his business ventures, and his relationships. These traits helped him become a mixtape phenomenon before he had a major recording contract. Chamillionaire has managed to become an internet forerunner at a time when others have failed to capitalize on the web's reach, a platinum plus selling artist during a time of sagging record sales, and a businessman who runs several successful companies.
All of his achievements and past experiences played a major part in shaping the direction of Chamillionaire's second major label album, “The Ultimate Victory.” In fact, it was his time on the road and in the studio that provided a purpose for the man also known as The Mixtape Messiah as he crafted his new release. "Behind the scenes, a lot of artists talk about everything that they think is wrong with the world, but when it comes time to address the issues through their music, they don't," he explains. "I decided I couldn't sit back and needed to be the one to say something."
He does just that on "Hip-Hop Police," a look at how the media and a variety of public figures continue to place blame on rap music for social issues, making loving hip hop equivalent to committing a crime. Then there's the insightful "Evening News," where Chamillionaire examines -- with a sarcastic tone - what constitutes newsworthiness on a planet filled with legitimately significant events and genuine human suffering. "Everyday I watch the news and look at how crazy the world is," he explains. "It humbles you to see other people's problems and to see the amount of adversity others seem to be going through. If you think you're going through hard times, you can always turn on the TV to see someone else who's going through things 10 times worse than you. But then again, the media will also dedicate a majority of their time focusing on topics that I feel are not as news worthy, often times making celebrity gossip their main focal point. I wanted to do a record with some social commentary but also not be too heavy handed when it comes to discussing the stuff that we should really be focusing on. I wanted to find the perfect balance and go right down the middle."
With the 2006 released "Ridin'" featuring Krayzie Bone, the anti-police profiling smash single that became a record breaking mastertone with over 4 million sold, Chamillionaire proved that he could make commercially viable music that matters. Yet while touring the world to promote his November 2005 released debut album, “The Sound of Revenge,” Chamillionaire saw one negative consequence of performing to diverse audiences. Each time he said the N-word in any of his songs, many of his white fans would rap along with him.
"It made me say to myself, 'OK, I'm going to have to do this run again and I don't want to be subliminally teaching people to say it," Chamillionaire says. "That's why I made the decision at the beginning stages of “The Ultimate Victory” to erase it from my vocabulary, long before the Don Imus controversy even started brewing."
Even though he sprinkled the N-word in his rhymes, Chamillionaire was never one to emphasize curse words in his previous material. Growing up as a child of four in a strict household run by a Christian mother and a Muslim father, he was not allowed to curse. In fact, his parents didn't even want him to listen to rap. However, they did instill a tireless work ethic into a young Hakeem Seriki, something that ironically has helped him throughout each stage of his rap career. The Career Hip Hop Superstar is another reason why you should never give up Beaumont,TX!!

Thursday November 21st: Featured Below is Texas native R&B Sensation Ciara!! Ciara was born Ciara Princess Harris on October 25, 1985, in Austin, Texas. As the only child of Jackie and Carlton Clay Harris, she grew up on U. S. Army bases all over the world, including stops in Nevada, New York, California, Arizona and even Germany. Ciara settled in Atlanta as a teen and after watching pop group Destiny's Child on television she decided that music was what she wanted to pursue. She wrote poems and stories as a young girl, but Ciara never took her writing seriously until she joined a girl group call Hearsay. Although the group broke up, she saw this as an opportunity to work on her songwriting skills—a smart move, given Atlanta's reputation as a center of urban music talent. She got a publishing deal and met prominent Atlanta producer Jazze Pha, who helped her get a record deal at LaFace Records. The single that put Ciara on the map, "Goodies," was co-written by her and produced by popular rapper/producer Lil Jon. The song reached the top of the singles charts in the U. S. and the U.K. The follow-up singles, "1, 2 Step," featuring Missy Elliott, and "Oh," featuring rapper Ludacris, were also successes, both reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.
Ciara's debut album, Goodies, was a surprise hit, certified triple platinum (3 million in sales) by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album also garnered the new artist four nominations at the 2005 Grammy Awards. Her second studio album, 2006'sCiara: The Evolution, did well in the United States, reaching No. 1 on the albums chart and reaching platinum status. However, her third album release, 2009's Fantasy Ride, marked a serious downturn in sales, despite its big hit single "Love Sex Magic," featuring superstarJustin Timberlake (and the racy video that accompanied the song).
Always known for her agile dancer's body and unique dance moves, Ciara has become a fixture in fashion magazines as well, partly due to her deal with Wilhelmina Models, which focuses on casting her for photo shoots and commercials. Her career has generated eightBillboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, three MTV Video Music Awards and one Grammy Award. She has also written or co-written songs for some of music's biggest stars, including Missy Elliott and Bow Wow.
Ciara dated rap star and television host Bow Wow (Shad Gregory Moss, formerly known as Lil Bow Wow) for almost two years; the couple broke up in 2006. She appeared on a charity single, "Just Stand Up!" which raised money for cancer research and was featured on the Stand Up to Cancer television special. Ciara also worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes of terminally ill children. Ciara, this world famous And talented Singer Is Another Outstanding Reason To Never Give Up Beaumont!!
